Hezbollah Loses Parliamentary Majority in Lebanon Elections

The Shiite movement Hezbollah in Lebanon has lost its parliamentary majority as a result of the elections. This is reported by Interfax, referencing Orient-Le Jour.

According to the media outlet, the coalition led by Hezbollah received 61 seats in the 128-member legislature, which is 10 seats fewer than the results achieved in the elections four years ago.

Earlier, Lebanon's Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi stated that voter turnout in the country averaged 41 percent.
