Earthquake in Armenia

On May 14, 2023, at 21:14 local time (17:14 GMT), a seismic event measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale occurred in the border area between Georgia and Armenia, 15 kilometers northeast of the village of Bavra, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The earthquake was registered by the seismic protection territorial service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, with geographical coordinates of 41.20° north latitude and 43.96° east longitude.

The intensity of the tremor in the epicentral zone reached 6 points. Residents felt the quake with varying intensity: 4-5 points in the Shirak and Lori regions, 3-4 points in the Aragatsotn and Tavush regions, and 3 points in the city of Yerevan and the Ararat region.
