Suspect Found After Shooting Incident in Yerevan Presents Weapon from Hideout
On May 13, the officers from the Criminal Police Department of the RA Police, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan Police, and the Nor Nork Division carried out necessary operational and investigative measures, leading to the identification and apprehension of a suspect who fired shots in Yerevan today.
According to shamshyan.com, as a result of extensive police work, 34-year-old Beglar H. was found in the Shengavit administrative district and was detained by the Nor Nork Division of the police. He was then presented to the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia for the Avan and Nor Nork districts, where he was arrested as a suspect by the investigator's decision.
During an additional examination of the crime scene by police officers and investigators, the suspect Beglar H. pointed out the location where he hid the weapon used in the crime, an AKS type assault rifle. The investigator confiscated the weapon and assigned forensic, genetic, and chemical examinations since a greenish mass resembling marijuana was also found with the rifle.
Prior to the stabbings and gunfire, a conversation between the opposing sides had taken place over a financial issue, which escalated into a dispute and ultimately led to stabbings and gunfire. Currently, three individuals are wanted as suspects.
Earlier, on May 13, a photojournalist reported hearing gunfire in Yerevan reminiscent of an action movie. At around 00:50, the Nor Nork Division of the police received a call from an ambulance doctor who reported that they had responded to a call on A. Hovhannisyan Street, where blood-like traces were found near house 25.
