Russia-NATO Conflict Could Evolve into Nuclear War, Medvedev Warns

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has stated that military assistance provided by the West to Ukraine increases the likelihood of a direct and overt conflict between NATO and Russia. In his opinion, such a conflict threatens to escalate into a full-scale nuclear war.

“The supply of weapons to Ukraine by NATO countries, the preparation of its troops to use Western technology, the sending of mercenaries, and the conduct of exercises by alliance countries near our borders increase the probability of direct and overt conflict between NATO and Russia,” Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.

“Such a conflict always carries the danger of turning into a full-scale nuclear war,” he noted. According to him, this scenario would be catastrophic for everyone involved. At the end of his statement, he urged the West to “consider the possible consequences of their actions.”

Previously, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin might declare martial law in the country. In response, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied that Russian authorities had such plans.
