Azerbaijani Citizen Killed in Ammunition Explosion in Aknai

An Azerbaijani citizen has died as a result of an ammunition explosion in the occupied Aknai (Aghdam) region.

According to Azerbaijani media reports, citing the prosecutor's office, on May 12, information was received that Rashad Bakhtiyarov (born in 1982) had sustained multiple shrapnel injuries.

Sources indicate that Bakhtiyarov was engaged in agricultural work when the incident occurred. He was transported to a local hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life.

The prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation.

It is noteworthy that Aknai came under the control of the Azerbaijani armed forces as a result of the aggression unleashed against the Republic of Artsakh on September 27, 2020.
