Germany Starts Paying for Russian Gas in Rubles, Says Italian Prime Minister

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi has stated that Germany has allegedly already made payments for Russian gas supplies in rubles, although he did not mention the name of the company that made the payment. He made this announcement during a press conference, as reported by Reuters.

“The largest gas importer, Germany, has already paid in rubles, and most importers have opened accounts in rubles,” he said. According to him, Moscow's demand for payments in rubles will not lead to disruptions in supplies.
