Azerbaijani Minister: Armenia's 6 Proposals Cannot Be Called Proposals

In February, the Azerbaijani side presented Armenia with the five fundamental principles for a peace treaty. Armenia announced that these principles were not suitable for them. This was stated by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, according to APA.

He noted that later information emerged about Armenia's six proposals.

"But the most interesting thing is that everyone saw the document adopted by Armenia. However, if you look at the document, it cannot be called proposals. At the time of submission, that document was a response from the Armenian side to Azerbaijan's proposals. I can list some of the six points of this response, and you can draw your own conclusions about how much they can be called proposals," the minister said.

The minister pointed out that one of the points is why the Azerbaijani side presented its main proposals to Armenia on March 1, although they were specified on February 21. "Azerbaijan has stated from the very first day that the main proposals were presented through mediators. This should be asked of the mediators. If Azerbaijan mentioned February 21, then it was presented on that day. The next point is that Armenia has no territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Back in 1992, both countries recognized each other’s territorial integrity as CIS members. And this, in a way, is a repetition of Azerbaijan's fundamental principle," he added.
