17-Year-Old Stabs 24-Year-Old in Yerevan

On May 5, at 14:25, a report was received by the police from the hospital that a 24-year-old male had been admitted with "stab wounds to the right side of the chest and thigh." This information was reported by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

The operational group from the Avan police department was dispatched to the hospital. Utilizing information received by the criminal investigators of the Avan department, joint operational-investigative measures were undertaken by the police's Crime Detection and Prevention Unit, the Yerevan Department, and the criminal investigators of Avan. They determined that at approximately 13:15, a group of young people was arguing near one of the houses on Acharian Street, during which the 17-year-old resident of the Kotayk region stabbed the injured young man.

At 17:25, both the 17-year-old and another participant in the altercation were located in Nor Gegharkunik and Abovyan and taken into custody by the Avan department. The 17-year-old provided a confession, and the knife used in the crime was seized. Preparations are being made for further materials regarding the incident.
