River Carries Host for About 10 km: New Details Emerge on the Incident

The river's current has carried away the TV host who fell into the Debed River yesterday for about 10 km, and as reported, her life could not be saved. According to Shamshyan.com, 32-year-old Gevorg Vardanyan, a resident of Vanadzor and the director of ‘Rafting Armenia Lori’ LLC, informed the investigative authorities that around 3:30 PM on the same day, during the water rafting organized by the mentioned company, while shooting within the framework of the ‘My Backpack and I’ program, the inflatable rubber boat capsized due to the river’s flow in the 3rd km section of the Kobayr-Sanahin station of the Debed River. As a result, four rafting participants and three crew members fell into the river.

Six of them (whose details are being clarified) managed to get out of the river by their own efforts, while Armine Jaharyan was carried away by the river for about 10 km. She was found by the rescuers and patrol officers of the Lori region near the Sanahin station area of the Debed River and was brought unconscious to the ambulance. She was transferred to the Alaverdi Medical Center, where her death was recorded.

A number of examinations have been appointed, including a forensic examination of the body. As we reported yesterday, TV host Armine Jaharyan from ‘Shant’ TV died after falling into the Debed River. Rescuers brought the host out of the Debed River, near Alaverdi city’s ‘Sanahin’ station, in an unconscious state and approached the ambulance.
