VIDEO: Who Did Not Applaud from the Ruling Faction in Parliament Yesterday
As reported yesterday, the Q&A session between the National Assembly and the government did not pass without incident. ArmDaily has focused on the scene of the opposition leaving the hall and the applause from the ruling faction during yesterday's assembly, highlighting who did not applaud in Parliament.
Recall that yesterday, MP Rustamyan asked Prime Minister Pashinyan whether Artsakh wants to remain under Azerbaijani control. Following this statement, opposition MPs expressed their unwillingness to listen to Pashinyan's response and left the hall. However, a few opposition MPs approached Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan standing at the podium and began to speak with him. During this, several members from the ruling party began chanting “Armenia.” National Assembly President Alen Simonyan told the departing opposition MPs, “Go, go to the 30-40 thousand people.”
The media reports that throughout this time, the ruling faction's MPs and ministers were spontaneously applauding, but not everyone expressed their loyalty to the government. As seen in the video, members of the ruling party Gurgen Arsenyan, Lena Nazaryan, and Zaruhy Batoyan, for example, simply observed the developments. They also remained reserved were Vice Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan, Economy Minister Vahan Keryobyan, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister Gnel Sanosyan, and Minister of High Technology Industry Robert Khachatryan.
In contrast to their colleagues, who were quite actively applauding and showing their support for the Prime Minister, Vice Prime Minister Hambartsum Matevosyan, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, Minister of Justice Karen Andreasian, and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan were more vocal in their support. Meanwhile, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Vahram Dumanyan was smiling ambiguously throughout the process.
