Threats and Warnings from the National Assembly
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that yesterday, in the National Assembly, members of the ruling party openly stated that there would be upcoming repressions and pressures on various segments of society.
Vahagn Aleksanyan directly instructed the Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan that the process of confiscating illegal property is not being carried out properly, as a result of which the former officials are currently blocking streets with that "property". Aleksanyan's "fight" was against the trucks.
“Dear citizens, with the property that you are demanding from us to expropriate, those properties are blocking your roads. We are delaying, Mr. Prosecutor General, regarding the confiscation of illegal property. Does the Deputy Minister who received 500,000 drams fall under the law of confiscation of illegal property?” he stated, effectively directing the prosecutor toward the side of the former official.
It should be noted that, according to information circulated on the internet, the trucks belong to the company of former Deputy Minister Arsen Karamiya, who is affiliated with the Republican Party of Armenia.
Furthermore, National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan threatened clergymen and representatives of the show business, stating that conclusions would be drawn and that this segment would personally “get acquainted” with the consequences.
“In the past, stars of the show business were afraid to speak out, and clergy were afraid to show their faces, from March 1 onwards, they hid behind black cloaks,” Simonyan said, threatening, “We are to blame; it’s okay, conclusions will be drawn.”
