Russian Army Expands Control Over Donetsk and Luhansk Territories

The Russian army is expanding its control over the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics during a special military operation alongside units from these republics. This was stated today by the Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation. Currently, the Russian army units, together with the militia of the Luhansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic, are expanding control over these two territories,” Shoigu said during a conference.

At the same time, he noted that Russian servicemen are taking comprehensive measures to protect the civilian population. “Humanitarian corridors are opened daily for the safe evacuation of civilians from combat zones, and ceasefire regimes are declared,” the minister emphasized.

According to him, Russian military personnel are actively providing humanitarian assistance to residents of liberated cities. “A total of 967 humanitarian actions have been carried out, during which 27,567 tons of cargo were delivered to 279 populated areas,” Shoigu detailed.
