"Listen, Sako. If you exceed your authority, resort to illegal and violent measures, then I promise you from this podium and on behalf of the people, I will tear off your epaulettes and you will be punished for that," declared the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, at France Square. He stated that they have "no issue with the police," but there are police officers who have openly subjected citizens to violence.

"Once again, I warn who is responsible for the rude behavior of those people. Since the police forces are insufficient to suppress the anger and protests of our compatriots, certain oligarchs send their 'akhraanik' individuals clad in police uniforms to suppress citizens," Saghatelyan noted.

He called for a presence on the ground: "No one should think they can use violence against citizens and get away with it." Earlier, we reported that videos of the Head of the National Security Service's Special Police Forces, Sargis Hovhannisyan, using force against media representatives and obstructing their professional work are being reviewed by the General Prosecutor's office.

It is worth reminding that today, Sargis Hovhannisyan physically assaulted a MediaHub operator at the intersection of Baghramyan and Pirosyan streets, pulled and raised his hand against a journalist, and then threatened a participant of the protest.
