Lavrov Shares Joke About Estonia
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a joke to Al Arabiya reporters while responding to accusations directed at Moscow regarding the violation of the UN Charter due to the military operation in Ukraine.
“For some reason, this joke is about Estonia: The Estonian zoo has a pond where crocodiles live. A mother is watching the crocodile with her small child. Nearby, some boys are drinking beer. Suddenly, the child falls into the pond near the crocodiles. One of the boys jumps in after him, saves the child, and hands him back to the mother. He says, ‘Thank you so much, you’re such a brave Estonian.’ The boy replies, ‘I’m not Estonian, I’m Russian.’ The next morning, the Estonian newspapers come out with the headline: ‘Drunken Russian Denies Crocodile His Lunch,’” Lavrov noted.
After that, the Foreign Minister inquired whether those who are now accusing Russia believe that the US was right in Iraq, Syria, and during the attack on Libya.
