VIDEO. Flashmob in Yerevan on International Dance Day

In connection with International Dance Day, the faculty and students of the choreography department at the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography organized a special flashmob. They performed in courtyards around Yerevan.

The young dancers gave a performance under the leadership of Liana Hakobyan, head of the choreography department.

Since 1982, April 29 has been celebrated as International Dance Day, which marks the birthday of the famous French ballet master Jean-Georges Noverre. He is recognized as a reformer and theorist of choreography, historically seen as the "father of modern ballet." Every year on April 29, opera and ballet theaters, contemporary dance groups, and other professionals in the field celebrate their professional holiday.
