“Thank God, we have a dictatorship” - Lukashenko

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the actions of neighboring EU countries that prevent their citizens from traveling to Belarus without a visa during festive days while conversing with residents of the Chechersk region, as reported by BELTA.

“We opened the border for them before Catholic Easter, and in a few days, it will be Radunitsa. Let people come from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, to visit their relatives' graves, as has always been the case. We allowed visa-free entry. Yet, they do not allow their people to enter Belarus. Why? Because people come to us for salt. They have no salt. Wonderful, rich West, yet there’s no salt: and to ensure that people do not say that Belarusians live normally, they simply don’t let them out. That’s democracy in a nutshell,” he stated.

“Thank God, we have a dictatorship,” Lukashenko added sarcastically. “You all criticized me — dictatorship, dictatorship. But instead, in a dictatorship, there is order. If there were no dictatorship, you would be walking naked.”
