Emergency Situation in Gegharkunik Province: 37-Year-Old Driver's Opel Ends Up in Swamp Near Lake Sevan

Today, on April 28, an emergency situation occurred in Gegharkunik Province. At around 03:35, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call at the 9-11 crisis management center reporting that a vehicle had fallen into Lake Sevan on the 4th kilometer of the Sevan-Gavar road.

According to shamshyan.com, the emergency response team arrived promptly from the Sevan Fire and Rescue Unit No. 32, along with one combat unit from the No. 30 Water Rescue Unit.

Firefighters and rescuers retrieved the Opel vehicle belonging to 37-year-old Garush Saghatelyan, a resident of Gegharkunik Province, from the swamp next to Lake Sevan using special equipment (mobile crane). Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the driver managed to exit the vehicle on his own when it fell into the swamp.
