During the Incident of a Pregnant Woman's Death, Pashinyan Was Rushing to a Meeting with the CPP

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: On the evening of the day before yesterday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was rushing to the National Assembly for a meeting with members of the ruling Civil Contract party. The convoy, which included the vehicle that fatally struck a pregnant woman, was escorting him to the National Assembly for a meeting with his faction.

It should be noted that the deceased was 29-year-old pregnant Sona Mnatsakanyan. A source from the Civil Contract told us that Pashinyan arrived late to the meeting and briefly mentioned the incident, but at that moment he was not aware that the woman had already died. None of the MPs inquired whether the Prime Minister's convoy had stopped or whether there had been any attempt to assist the woman and transport her to the hospital. In response to our question, the CPP representative stated, "We did not imagine that there could be another option; they just drove away without providing assistance."

He added, "Perhaps protocol demanded that they not stop... maybe they didn’t stop due to security considerations." Pashinyan began to tell the MPs about his visit to Moscow, boasting that everything had gone very well, and about an hour later he was informed that the pregnant woman involved in the incident had died, at which point he interrupted the meeting and left in distress. He likely thought that the angry crowd would retaliate against him and would follow him out.
