Austrian Oil and Gas Company Announces Payment for Gas in Euros

The Austrian oil and gas company OMV intends to continue making payments for gas supplies in euros. This was announced by the Republic's Minister of European Affairs and Constitution, Karoline Edtstadler.

“OMV has always paid for gas supplies in euros and will continue to do so,” she wrote on her Twitter page.

Edtstadler added that the existing payment method for Russian gas supplies fully complies with the sanctions regime.

Earlier, OMV reported that the company does not plan to open accounts in Switzerland for making payments for Russian gas supplies. Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer stated that Vienna has accepted the new payment terms from Russia for gas.
