Authorities Refer to Arms Procurement Transactions Signed Before 2018: MP
Different faces of the government and representatives of the propaganda machine still have the audacity to declare that a significantly greater volume of weapons has been procured during their term compared to 1 or 2 decades ago. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the 'I Have Honor' faction of the National Assembly, on his Facebook page.
He specifically noted: “It is noteworthy that they refer to transactions whose deliveries, although occurred during their tenure, were signed before 2018. This primarily concerns the $100 million loan agreement with the Russian Federation, which was signed after the April 2016 military actions. I am not even mentioning the fact that their prized SU-30 aircraft were delivered without munitions and did not solve any problems during the 44-day war. For four aircraft, various estimates indicate that $140-160 million was allocated.”
“What volume of FREE weaponry Armenia received before Pashinyan, in large volume, and why the army did not receive necessary armaments during Pashinyan's tenure, is a subject for another discussion. Even Aliyev claimed, with a hoarse voice, that according to their calculations, Armenian weaponry worth about $5 billion was destroyed or came under Azerbaijani control.”
“Ultimately, the authorities that only speak and write about army reductions and changes in uniform since the 44-day war, and do not discuss the improvement of army combat readiness, growth in the social conditions of the ranks and contract servicemen, or the necessary moral-psychological level in the army, simply have no moral right to talk about their ‘achievements.’ You are not only responsible for the devastating war and the thousands of casualties and wounded, which, as Pashinyan admitted, could have been prevented but was not, but you are also responsible for intentionally dismantling the armed forces, lowering the defensive capabilities of the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh, and paving the way for concessions on that basis,” wrote Abrahamyan.
