North Korean Leader Threatens with Nuclear Weapons

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has announced that his country will continue to strengthen its nuclear capabilities "at maximum speed." He made this statement during a parade commemorating the founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army, as reported by Коммерсант.ru.

"We will take measures to develop and enhance the nuclear forces of the DPRK at maximum speed," the leader stated. He emphasized that the primary function of nuclear weapons is to "prevent war."

"If any force threatens our fundamental interests, it will be impossible not to utilize the second unexpected function of our nuclear forces," the leader added.

Since the beginning of the year, North Korea has been actively testing missiles. These launches occur against the backdrop of deteriorating relations between Pyongyang and Seoul. South Korean Defense Minister Seo Wook has declared a readiness to deliver preemptive strikes against any North Korean targets. In response, Kim Jong Un's sister, Kim Yo Jong, warned that Pyongyang might use nuclear weapons and referred to the head of the neighboring country's defense ministry as "trash."
