The Megrhi division of the police received information that, not far from the village of Vardani Dzor, a visit was made to check the irrigation stream, where human remains—including a skull, bones, and torn clothing—were discovered in the stream.

According to shamshyan.com, the head of the Syunik regional police, Alik Mamikonyan, the head of the Meghri division, Karen Grigoryan, and the head of the Syunik regional investigative department of Armenia's Investigative Committee were dispatched to the scene.
