Khachpar Community Head Assaults Villager in Office: Case in Court

The head of Khachpar community, Ghazar Martirosyan, has been charged with assaulting local resident Vardan Babayan in his office on March 30, 2021, around 11:00 AM, during a dispute over a household issue. This was reported by ArmLur.am.

In March 2021, Vardan Babayan approached the Masis trade office of Veolia Water Company to request a drinking water pipeline for his land in the same community. They informed him that he also needed to provide a site plan from the community administration along with his application. To obtain this document, Vardan Babayan went to the Khachpar community hall on March 30, at around 11:00 AM, and informed Ghazar Martirosyan about his request.

As they had already been in a long-standing conflict with mutual resentment and tension, Martirosyan refused to provide the site plan after hearing Babayan's request, demanding that he leave his office. Following this, he grabbed Babayan's left arm and forcibly pulled him towards the entrance door by 1-2 meters.

The ensuing tense conversation and struggle led to a dispute and a physical altercation between Vardan Babayan and Ghazar Martirosyan, during which Martirosyan inflicted blows to Babayan's head with his fists, causing him physical pain. The case is currently in court.
