Peacekeepers Do Everything to Prevent Escalation of Situation: Kopirkin

Peacekeepers are doing everything to maintain peace and stability in the region and to prevent escalation of the situation. This was stated today by Sergey Kopirkin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Armenia, during a conversation with journalists at Victory Park. He declared that Russia strictly adheres to its position regarding the agreements around Nagorno-Karabakh, and that the activities of the peacekeepers are subordinated to this, among other things.

According to the ambassador, it is a widely accepted fact, including by the leadership of Armenia, that they play a key role in ensuring peace and security in the region. “No one doubts this fact, and I believe that it also dictates prudence,” said the ambassador.

Regarding Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Russia, Ambassador Kopirkin noted that one of the most important outcomes of the visit is the assertion that our relations have been, are, and will remain allied, aimed at the future. He emphasized that the leaders of Russia and Armenia highly valued the visit. “The joint statement is evidence of this, where the positions of our countries on key issues of the modern world, as well as the region, and on bilateral relations were presented in great detail,” he said.
