G7 Countries Anticipate Ukraine Aid Will Exceed $24 Billion
The G7 countries are looking forward to the total volume of additional aid for Ukraine surpassing $24 billion this year and beyond. This was stated in a press release following a meeting of the finance ministers and central bank governors of the 'G7' held on April 20 in Washington.
"Based on the G7 finance ministers' statement from February 14, 2022, together with international cooperation, we have provided or pledged to provide substantial additional assistance in both financial and material terms that will exceed $24 billion in 2022 and beyond," the document published on the German finance ministry's website reads.
The G7 countries, alongside their partners, will continue to fight against the economic difficulties arising from the situation surrounding Ukraine, the statement indicates. The G7 also urged international financial institutions to "rapidly scale up support for food security and agricultural production" and to provide assistance to the most vulnerable countries, TASS reported.
