The Foundation of Dialogue Lies in Azerbaijan's Proposed Fundamental Principals: Zakharova

Russia's Special Representative for the Foreign Minister Igor Khovaev has the important task of supporting Armenian and Azerbaijani partners in the preparation of a peace agreement. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“The special representative is already actively involved in the works, having held useful consultations in Yerevan, and his visit to Baku has been agreed for the near future. The basis of the dialogue lies in the fundamental principles proposed by Azerbaijan for the restoration of inter-state relations between Yerevan and Baku and, in general, Armenia's constructive response to these proposals. Russia's mediation efforts are based on the statements of the leaders of the Russian Federation, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, which put an end to violence in the region and opened real prospects for resolving complex humanitarian issues, restoring transport communications, and demarcating the Armenian-Azerbaijani border,” said Zakharova.
