Pashinyan Legitimized Russia's War and Condemned the West: Ioannisyan
Daniel Ioannisyan, coordinator of the NGO 'Civil Society of Informed Citizens,' addressed Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin's joint statement on his Facebook page.
He wrote in particular:
“Some highlights from the Pashinyan-Putin joint statement:
1. By the statement (point 22), Armenia essentially legitimizes Russia's war against Ukraine.
2. In point 9 of the statement, Armenia de facto condemns Western sanctions against Russia and hinting at supporting Russia in circumventing these sanctions.
3. The commitment to cooperate with Russia on information-communication security in point 10 resembles the Stockholm Syndrome.
4. The statement should logically have included condemnation of mercenarism and some beautiful words about fighting it, but there was none.
5. A number of points in the statement (4, 22, 30, etc.) clearly outline that Armenia should not have an actually sovereign foreign policy.
6. Although several points of the statement align with integration logic, there is no mention of a Union State.
7. The mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship was reaffirmed by the statement, which was significantly in doubt before.
8. There is no expression of greeting or support related to Yerevan's initiated peace agenda and rhetoric.”
