Man Found with Stolen Gas Cylinders from Various Vehicles

On April 18, officers from the Patrol Service of the Police of Armenia discovered another car thief in Yerevan.

According to shamshyan.com, at around 04:40, while on duty, the patrol officers noticed an Opel car on Bagrevandi Street. Upon seeing the police, the driver attempted to flee.

The officers pursued him, and after he abandoned the vehicle in a deserted area, he attempted to escape on foot. The patrol managed to catch him and took him to the New Nork police station.

Three stolen gas cylinders were found in his car. He informed the police that he had stolen them earlier that day from various cars parked in the 2nd block of New Nork.

The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Mesrop G. from the Gegharkunik Province.

During the chase, one of the police officers sustained injuries to his leg and was taken to the hospital.

Later the same day, 46-year-old Gagik G. from Moldovan Street reported to the New Nork police station, stating that the gas cylinder and electric battery had been stolen from his parked Opel vehicle in their building's yard overnight.

A 40-year-old resident, Aleksan T., and a 31-year-old resident, Narek D., also reported similar thefts of gas cylinders from their cars parked in the same area.

Authorities suspect that the thief pursued by the patrol might be responsible for the thefts of gas cylinders from these vehicles.
