Shame on You All, Did You Cancel Your Flights When 19 Countries Bombed Serbia? Serbia's President's Harsh Statement
Serbia continues to maintain air communication with Russia despite daily notifications from Ukraine about supposed explosive devices on airplanes. This was stated by the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić, during the Hit Tvit program on Pink TV on Sunday.
“What do you think, are we conducting flights today for profit? There is no profit. We know that the reports about bombs are false. This is done by foreign services. There is no profit today; we continue our flights on principle because we want to show that we are a free country and we make our own decisions. No one should make decisions for us,” he said.
Vučić condemned those who insist on halting Serbian air communication with the Russian Federation under the pretext of a prompt resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. “Shame on you all, did you cancel your flights when 19 countries bombed Serbia?” he emphasized, adding that at least 30 NATO member countries are currently assisting one country.
“No one helped us, and during the assault, 19 of the most powerful countries attacked us. Why didn’t you cancel flights to America, London, Paris, Berlin? You were all silent when the small Serbian people were dying,” noted the president.
Earlier, staff and visitors at the Air Serbia office in Belgrade were evacuated following reports of bomb threats. There have been multiple false reports regarding the presence of bombs on Air Serbia flights between Belgrade and Moscow, as well as Belgrade and St. Petersburg. The airplanes returned to departure points for inspection. The false information originated from the territories of Ukraine and Poland.
