Nearly Half of Germany's Population Dissatisfied with Chancellor's Performance: What is the Reason?
Dissatisfaction among the residents of Germany regarding Chancellor Olaf Scholz, a Social Democrat, has reached its peak since the start of his term on December 8, 2021. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by the Insa Institute on behalf of the German newspaper Bild.
According to the survey, 49% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the German government leader, while 38% reported being satisfied. Furthermore, 55% of those surveyed indicated dissatisfaction with the federal government, while 35% expressed contentment with the government's overall performance.
It is also noted that if federal elections were held next Sunday, the opposition coalition composed of the Christian Democratic Union and the Christian Social Union would gather 26% of the votes, while the Social Democratic Party of Germany would receive 25%.
Chancellor Scholz's approval rating has also declined due to the sanctions imposed against Russia.
