Percentage of Armenians Who Obtained Russian Citizenship Last Year Revealed
In the first quarter of this year, 137,700 people from former Soviet republics received Russian citizenship, of which 7.9% are Armenian citizens.
This information was disclosed to TASS by the press center of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Russian citizenship remains particularly attractive to individuals from former Soviet republics, whose share accounted for 97.2% or 137,700 people who obtained citizenship in the Russian Federation within the first quarter of 2022. This included 39.6% from Ukraine, 23.9% from Tajikistan, 8% from Kazakhstan, 7.9% from Armenia, 4.7% from Uzbekistan, 4.5% from Azerbaijan, 3.6% from Kyrgyzstan, 3.1% from Belarus, and 3% from Moldova,” stated the agency's source.
