Video: Ararat Mirzoyan on His Phone Conversation with Bayramov
The phone conversation between me and Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov took place at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side, stated Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in parliament.
According to him, the direct discussion with the Azerbaijani foreign minister does not imply a bilateral format for negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Armenian side's views regarding the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group have remained unchanged.
"We see the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship," said Mirzoyan. At this moment, he noted, the disagreements among the co-chairing countries do not allow the 'trio' to organize discussions.
"We cannot allow any vacuum in this regard, but I would refrain from defining a bilateral format (between Azerbaijan and Armenia). In essence, there is no bilateral format; there have been no bilateral negotiations, only discussions about the initiation of negotiations, rather than substantive talks," noted Mirzoyan.
