Video: Why Peacekeepers Did Not Allow MPs to Enter Artsakh – Mirzoyan Knows Why

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was in contact with the authorities of the Republic of Artsakh and the authorities of the Russian Federation immediately after the incident where members of the National Assembly were prohibited from entering Artsakh, stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, in the National Assembly.

“From the moment it became known that members of the National Assembly could not enter Nagorno-Karabakh via the Lachin corridor, we took action. We have been in high-level contact with both the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh and those of the Russian Federation. We have been assured that access for National Assembly members to Artsakh has been restricted for the sake of avoiding provocations,” said the Foreign Minister.

Regarding Armenia's position, Mirzoyan noted that it is clearly reflected in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which indicates that the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020, does not foresee any restrictions on movement through the Lachin corridor and that citizens of the Republic of Armenia, especially members of the National Assembly, should have unhindered access to Nagorno-Karabakh.
