The War in Ukraine May Last Until 2035: Insights from Zelensky's Office
The war with Russia could extend until 2035, during which regular military clashes are "guaranteed," stated Oleksiy Arestovych, an advisor to the head of the Ukrainian President's Office, in an interview with Mark Feygin.
Arestovych noted that if Russian occupying forces capture Donbas within its administrative borders, Ukraine will not sign a peace treaty with the Russian Federation. "Under these conditions, a peace treaty will not be signed, the war will continue," he asserted.
According to him, the Ukrainian leadership intends to conduct military operations for as long as it takes to liberate Donbas "millimeter by millimeter." Furthermore, he projected that the war could last until 2035.
"This war will not be the last from Russia. Just as Israel and the Arabs went through five major wars before understanding that these methods do not work and they need to switch to other ones, this will happen with us. I don't know if five military clashes will be required, but several military confrontations are guaranteed before 2035. This means clashes every two, and possibly every five years, and major conflicts every seven to eight years," Arestovych stated.
He believes it would be better for Ukrainians who are not prepared for constant confrontations to temporarily leave the country. "Those who are not ready for this, who are now shouting about how to live and raise children, need to move to another country. This is a new Israel here, but the scale is more drastic and terrifying. For those who are not ready, there is Spain and many other countries. Go there if you are not ready," Arestovych added.
