Infection Linked to Consumption of 'Kinder' Chocolate Eggs, Import Temporarily Banned
The Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia has begun regulatory measures in response to reports of dozens of salmonella infection cases associated with the consumption of chocolate, specifically 'Kinder' chocolate eggs, in several European countries.
Regulatory oversight is currently being implemented at two companies importing the stated brand: 'Slav Group' LLC (importing from Russia) and 'SAS Group' LLC (importing from Germany). Inspections are underway, during which samples will be taken from the existing batches in the companies and subjected to laboratory analysis.
A temporary ban on the import of 'Kinder' brand chocolate and chocolate products from Germany has also been ordered. The results of the laboratory tests will be published.
