French President Emmanuel Macron was the last of the presidential candidates to cast his vote in the first round of elections held on Sunday, reports RIA Novosti.

The current leader of the French Republic arrived at the polling station in Le Touquet, located in the north of the country, accompanied by his wife, Brigitte. A large crowd of supporters had gathered near Macron's residence, with whom the French leader happily chatted and took photos.

Before reaching the polling station, he warmly greeted the gathered crowd, shook hands, and signed autographs. Observers note that Macron traditionally votes in the middle of the day. According to BFMTV, Macron will return to Paris at noon to monitor the election results.

It is noted that the other presidential candidates had already voted on Sunday morning.
