Germany: 'We have reached the limit'. No more weapons supplies to Ukraine

“We have reached the boundary beyond which national defense and NATO protection begin,” explained the German Minister of Defense, adding that the discussion pertains to supplying weapons and ammunition directly from federal reserves to Ukraine.

This was reported by the Russian RTVI. To maintain the Bundeswehr's defense capability, supplies must be carried out based on the military industry's production, said Lambrecht.

According to her, Berlin is in constant discussions about this issue with Kyiv.

“The limitations that have arisen do not mean that we cannot do more for Ukraine. We are now clarifying what volumes of arms and ammunition the defense industry can provide,” the minister assured.

Lambrecht confirmed that all information regarding the supply of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine remains confidential. “There are valid reasons not to present details on this matter,” said the head of the German Ministry of Defense.

She confirmed that Germany began supplying weapons to Ukraine at Kyiv's direct request. “There are clear statements from my Ukrainian counterpart, their deputy, and the military attaché,” added Lambrecht.

According to her, “one must always remember that at the moment the delivery data is disclosed, Russia will also have that information, and it will have strategic consequences.”

Ukraine has also received arms supplies from the United States. Two weeks ago, on March 25, it became known that Kyiv requested hundreds of anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles, more than previously asked.

As reported by CNN, within the two weeks following the start of the special operation, the U.S. supplied approximately 17,000 anti-tank missiles and 2,000 anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine.

A month after the commencement of military operations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also asked NATO countries to provide more heavy weaponry to Kyiv, specifically tanks and anti-missile defense systems, as the Ukrainian side lacks “powerful anti-missile weapons” and has fewer aircraft than Russia.

According to Zelensky, “1% of all NATO armaments in terms of aircraft and 1% in terms of tanks” would be sufficient for Ukraine.
