VIDEO: Opposition Leaves the Meeting Hall and Announces They are Heading to Artsakh
The leader of the 'Hayastan' faction, Seyran Ohanyan, announced that the parliamentary opposition will not participate in this week's sessions and is heading to Artsakh and the border regions of Armenia.
He stated that serious challenges have arisen for Armenia and Artsakh. During their last rally, they highlighted the red lines related to the country's security, beyond which no authority has the right to act.
“The provisions mentioned in the declaration of independence of the Republic of Armenia regarding our territorial integrity and sovereignty are non-negotiable for us. We consider any option for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict unacceptable, if it puts Artsakh under the control of Azerbaijan,” Ohanyan declared.
According to him, the current government of Armenia is incapable of solving numerous internal and external issues. The recent developments, in his view, confirm concerns that everything is unfolding according to the Azerbaijani-Turkish agenda.
“Given the current situation, the parliamentary opposition announces that it will not participate in this week's sessions and votes; we are heading to Artsakh and the border regions of Armenia,” he stated.
Seyran Ohanyan and other opposition deputies placed Artsakh flags on their tables.
Haik Mamijanyan, the secretary of the 'Pativ Unem' faction, also announced that they will not participate in the sessions and are heading to Artsakh.
