Kim Jong Un's Sister Threatens Nuclear War
North Korea will use nuclear weapons if South Korea "goes for military confrontation." This statement was made by Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and deputy director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, as reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"If South Korea goes for military confrontation, our combat nuclear forces inevitably must fulfill their duty," the agency quoted Kim Yo Jong as saying. She also noted that it was a "very big mistake" for South Korea's Defense Minister to talk about a preemptive strike against North Korea.
Previously, Kim Yo Jong had referred to South Korean Defense Minister Seo Wook as "garbage" for his comments regarding the possibility of a preemptive strike against North Korea and warned of tragic consequences for Seoul as a result of such statements.
Kim Yo Jong condemned Seo Wook's remarks made on April 1, stating that the South Korean armed forces possess a large number of different types of missiles capable of "accurately and swiftly hitting any target" in North Korea. The minister had discussed the possibility of striking "any source of attack and its command and support objects" should a preparation for an attack by North Korea be detected. Seo Wook also promised to continue the development of a multi-layered missile defense system, which North Korea does not have, reported RIA Novosti.
