Attempted Murder on Amiryan Street: Young Man Arrested
The Police of Armenia reported that on April 2, at 14:45, a notification was received regarding a man with a gunshot wound near one of the restaurants on Amiryan Street, and he was being transported to the hospital.
“At 15:00, the hospital reported that a 33-year-old man was admitted with a diagnosis of 'gunshot wound to the middle third of the right thigh.' Five minutes later, a second report came from the hospital regarding a 42-year-old man who was admitted with a diagnosis of 'gunshot wound to the left groin,'” the statement said.
Upon arriving at the scene, the investigative team discovered that during a dispute in the yard of one of the buildings on Amiryan Street, a 29-year-old man had fired a gun he was illegally possessing at the injured individuals. During the inspection of the crime scene, four 9mm cartridges and two bullets were found.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. Thanks to measures taken by the officers of the Central Police Department and thorough explanations, on April 2, the 29-year-old young man presented himself at the Central Police Division, handing over a 'Makarov' type pistol loaded with three 9mm cartridges. He was presented to the prosecuting body, gave a confession, and was arrested. An investigation is underway,” the report stated.
