Video: Hrazdan Gorge to Receive New Special Status

The Hrazdan Gorge is set to receive a new status. This information has been reported by the Yerevan City Hall.

The irregular construction that began in the 1990s and the mushrooming of various objects in the Hrazdan Gorge have unfortunately changed all perceptions regarding the organization of leisure. As a recreational area, the gorge should be a place dedicated to relaxation, tourism, and health. However, as a result of well-known urban development actions, this recreational area has not only lost its intended significance but has also faced serious environmental issues.

In order to address these and many other problems, the city authorities have initiated a project to improve the ecological situation of the Hrazdan Gorge. The gorge is expected to have a special status.
