Alen Simonyan and the Chairman of Azerbaijan's Parliament Discuss Requirements Regarding the Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh

During a session dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, the leaders of the Armenian and Azerbaijani parliaments exchanged demands regarding the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, as reported by RIA Novosti.

Sahiba Gafarova stated that "it is not Azerbaijan but Armenia that violates the provisions of the trilateral statement," demanding the "withdrawal of Armenian troops from Azerbaijani territories," among other requests.

In his speech, Alen Simonyan emphasized that it is the Azerbaijani side that has violated the ceasefire regime. He pointed out that this violation has been acknowledged not only by Armenia but also by Russia, which is the guarantor of security in the region.

“I would like to reiterate: Armenia is offering Azerbaijan to immediately start negotiations on the signing of a peace treaty,” Simonyan noted.

The speaker of Azerbaijan’s parliament stated that Baku has repeatedly offered Yerevan a peace treaty considering the 5 points. In response, Simonyan remarked, “I officially declare that those points are acceptable for Armenia, and we believe that if we add some aspects, we can implement it.”
