VIDEO: I spent 50,000 drams selling my land; had I known I would spend that much, I wouldn’t have sold it, let it stay abandoned—MP

Recently, my family sold our 1000 square meter plot of land, and we spent about 40-50,000 drams on it. Considering how much we sold it for, had I known I would spend that much money, I wouldn’t have sold it; I would have left it uncultivated and abandoned.

This was stated by MP Hovik Avagyan from the ‘Civil Contract’ faction during a recent extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly's Economic Issues Committee, while directing a question to the head of the Cadastre Committee, Suren Tovmasyan.

“If I must sell that plot for 300,000 drams, is it worth spending 50,000 drams and losing that much time? This raises questions about the feasibility of the situation,” Avagyan stated.

In response, Tovmasyan mentioned that in many cases, citizens spend time because they do not use the digitization system, which significantly simplifies the sales process.
