It Took Blindness Not to See the Risk of Azerbaijan Committing New Murders and Suffering in Artsakh: Z. Mnatsakanyan
It took blindness not to see the risk that Azerbaijan would take advantage of the situation in Ukraine to commit new murders and inflict suffering in Artsakh. This risk is becoming tangible. Former Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan wrote this on Twitter.
In his post, the former foreign minister also mentioned the losses experienced by Artsakh due to the recent escalation.
“Azerbaijan is violating the ceasefire regime by using weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles, including Bayraktars. There are 3 fatalities and 14 injuries in Artsakh,” he wrote.
“For more than two weeks, Artsakh has been left without gas in freezing weather. The conditions are bordering on humanitarian disaster. Azerbaijan is deliberately delaying the repair of the only gas pipeline to Artsakh, which is under its control. The world is charmingly blind. There is nothing new here,” Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated.
As highlighted by the former foreign minister, these recent events indicate an existential threat to the people of Artsakh. “Their struggle has always been directed at survival and security on their land. Artsakh, under Azerbaijani jurisdiction, is Nagorno-Karabakh without Armenians. Baku has never hidden that goal,” he emphasized.
