Azerbaijan Confirms That There Is No Nagorno-Karabakh in Its Territory: Edmond Marukyan
Thus, the official Azerbaijan, through statements from its two agencies, confirms that there is no Nagorno-Karabakh in its territory. This was stated by special envoy Edmond Marukyan on his Facebook page.
“In response to the well-known statement by the Russian Defense Ministry, both the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have emphasized that there is no territorial unit of ‘Nagorno-Karabakh’ within Azerbaijan,” he wrote. “Thus, official Azerbaijan reaffirms through the statements of its two agencies that there is no Nagorno-Karabakh in its territory.”
“This is precisely why both we and the international community continue to insist that the status of Nagorno-Karabakh is unresolved, that the rights of the people of Artsakh are not guaranteed, and that Azerbaijan cannot be the arbiter and guarantor of these issues,” he concluded.
