UN Calls for Restraint from Azerbaijan and Armenia

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on Azerbaijan and Armenia to exercise restraint amid escalating tensions in Nagorno-Karabakh. This announcement was made by the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, during a press briefing on Friday.

“The Secretary-General is concerned about reports of new hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh and its surroundings. He urges the parties to refrain from any actions and statements that could lead to an escalation of the situation and to resolve all issues, including humanitarian ones, through direct dialogue within existing formats,” he said.
