Turkey Responds to Reports of Transferring S-400s to Ukraine
The head of Turkey's Defense Industry Agency, Ismail Demir, has responded to recent reports suggesting that Turkey may transfer the S-400 air defense systems purchased from Russia to Ukraine. This was reported by Ermenihaber.
In an interview with the Russian newspaper 'Izvestia,' Demir denied the information, stating that this issue is not up for discussion in Ankara, and that they continue to collaborate with the Russian Federation as before.
“Turkey is capable of independently deciding what policy to pursue and what path to take. Our position is that peace should be established between Ukraine and Russia. We are doing everything we can to stop the bloodshed,” Demir emphasized.
It is worth mentioning that former employee of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, Paul Kolbe, published an analytical article in the 'Wall Street Journal' titled “Turkey’s Russian Missiles Could Defend Ukraine.” In the article, he suggested transferring the S-400 air defense systems purchased from Russia to Ukraine to fight against Russian fighters, in exchange for Turkey receiving F-35 military aircraft from the United States.
