Biden Warns of NATO Response to Russia if Chemical Weapons Used in Ukraine

US President Joe Biden has warned that if Russia uses chemical weapons in Ukraine, NATO will be compelled to respond, The Guardian reports.

Biden stated that the response would be proportional. At the same time, he did not assert that it would involve military action.

“We will respond if they use it. The nature of our response will depend on the nature of their use,” Biden said.

Recall that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a special military operation for the demilitarization of Ukraine.
