Western Leasing Companies Demand Return of Over 500 Aircraft Worth $20 Billion

Western leasing companies have demanded the return of over 500 aircraft worth $20 billion, said Vitaly Savelyev, head of the Russian Ministry of Transport, according to Interfax.

“More than 500 inquiries regarding foreign-manufactured aircraft have been received. We are currently negotiating with the government regarding their repossession. I can only say the value at stake is a residual amount of $20 billion, if we buy back what we haven't paid for. This is a significant amount,” he stated.
