Snowdrifts, Closed Roads: Travel Only When Absolutely Necessary

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia. Due to weather conditions, it is advised to travel only when absolutely necessary.

The following roads are closed in the Aragatsotn region: the roads from the "Amberd" high mountainous meteorological station to the Amberd fortress and Lake Kary, the Berd-Jambarak highway, and the "Zuygaghbyur" section of the Gyumri-Bavra highway. The Vardenyats Pass, the Dilijan-Noyemberyan road in Tavush region, and the Sisian-Zanger, Kapan-Tatev-Goris roads in Syunik region are closed for trailers and difficult to navigate for other types of vehicles.

In Vayots Dzor region, the Gndevaz-Jermuk road is closed for trucks and difficult to navigate for other types of vehicles. The roads from Vanadzor to Dilijan, from Vanadzor to Alaverdi, and the Saravan-Zanger road (snowdrift) are also difficult to navigate.

In Tavush region, and in the Talin area of Aragatsotn region, snow is falling. There is some black ice present on all roads in Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, Lori, and Syunik regions. Snowdrifts are reported in the areas of Ashotik, Amasia in Shirak region and Jermuk in Vayots Dzor region.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
